Will the iPhone 5 launch later this year?

The iPhone 5 will make its debut in the fall, at least according to Japanese blog Macotakara.

Pointing to a scoop from an "Asian reliable source", the site says that Apple will unveil its next iPhone in September or October and maintain that same launch cycle for years.

In the past Apple has traditionally released its latest iPhone in the early summer, with the iPhone 4 and 3GS reaching customers in June and the3G in early July. But last year the company broke the mold by delaying the debut of the iPhone 4S until October

Macotakara's information contradicts opinions from Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster and other Apple watchers that the iPhone 5 would reach consumers midsummer. The report itself was short and sweet, with no explanation given as to why Apple would permanently alter the release cycle. But if Macotakara's source is on the level, there are a few reasons why the company might keep the fall timeframe.

Apple has typically held an iPod event in the fall. But iPod sales now account for a much smaller piece of Apple's pie, notes Apple Insider.

The 2010 iPod lineup, including the iPod touch, shuffle, nano, and classic, sported few changes from the previous generation, so the focus last October was clearly on the new iPhone.

Launching the iPhone 4S in October just ahead of the holiday season also helped Apple ring in a record quarteras eager shoppers scooped up the new phone for themselves and as gifts. Even further, with iPhone 4S sales going gangbusters, it seems unlikely Apple would release a new iPhone less than a year after the current model.

For now, we'll have to add this latest report to the rumor list.

iPhone 5 Said to Be Ready for WWDC 2012

Apple swayed from its traditional June unveiling for the iPhone 4S, choosing instead to hold the official launch at a dedicated “Let’s Talk iPhone” event in October. But we may not have to wait until this upcoming October to get a glimpse of the iPhone 5.
According to a report, the sixth-generation Apple smartphone will get back to its traditional June announcement at Apple’s Worldwide Developers conference.
The report comes from Daiwa Securities, which claims that Apple’s iPhone 5 will see the same WWDC unveiling that given to the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4. Furthermore, the company says the device will utilize “glass to glass” touch panel technology that will be supplied by TPK Holdings and Wintek.
To most people this doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Many reports circulating before the launch of the iPhone 4S last year claimed that 2010′s iPhone event was simply delayed so that Apple could perfect its iPhone 5 which was postponed at the last minute and substituted for the iPhone 4S.
Apple has yet to announce the date of its WWDC event for 2012, but a previously leaked calendar suggests that it could happen between June 10 and June 15.

Ten Steps to Improve Battery Life on your iPhone 4S

Adrian Kingsley-Hughes has come up with a set of tips and advices to help iPhone 4S’ users “squeeze more out of each charge”.
1. Readjust screen brightness (Settings > Brightness): the default settings are practical when the iPhone used outdoors, otherwise, the screen light can be dimmed.
2. Auto-Lock the screen (Settings > General > Auto-Lock): To conserve the battery life, you can turn off the screen after a short while of standby. Adrian Kingsley-Hughes suggests one minute or two.
3. Adjust connectivity settings (Settings > General > Network / Settings > General > Bluetooth / Settings > WiFi.): enable just what you need. While adjusting WiFi, don’t forget to turn off Ask to Join Networks. You can enable this feature again when necessary.
4. Switch to Airplane Mode (Settings): the easiest way to disable all the radios at once. With this mode active, you can selectively turn on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, if needed.
5. Turn off location services you don’t need (Settings > General > Location Services). The Location Services brought by iOS 5 “uses GPS along with crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower locations to determine your approximate location”, as Apple announces. You can imagine the effect on battery.

6. Manage Notifications (Settings > Notifications). ZDNet reviewer recommends two steps for doing that. First you should switch off Notification Center, then switch off View in Lock Screen to control apps visible on Lock Screen.
7. Disable diagnostics (Settings > General > About > Diagnostics & Usage). The setting on this should be “Don’t send”.
8. Avoid the cloud (Settings > iCloud). Yes, this is a sacrifice but synchronizing to iCloud eats a lot of battery life, keep it to the minimum with only the apps you are actually use.
9. Manage apps. Is a well known fact that the more apps are running in the background the more power is drained. Be merciless; kill whatever apps you don’t need on regular basis.
10. The toughest step of all: turn the handset offPress and hold the top button until the “Slide to power off: instruction appears, then slide to power off.

iPad 3 Coming March 7th

The release date for the iPad 3 is all but confirmed by Apple as many reports point towards a March 7th release date. The 7th of March is a very possible date as it fits within the report released last week from All Things D which cited an early March release. It also fits with the release schedule of previous Apple iPads. Several sources including iMore and The Loop are in agreement on the release date being set for March 7th, both being prominent sources for previous Apple leaks.

If previous sales are to repeat themselves the iPad 3 should be announced on the 7th and then be found in store in the US by March 16, a Friday. It would then become available for sales Internationally by March 30th. The details on the specs of the iPad 3 are of course up in the air. Many reports are saying that the Retina Display has been included with this release. However other reports are pointing to the previous CES iPad 3 sighting, and reporting that there are no big changes in line for the iPad 3. Some are saying that the iPad 3 is almost an iPad 2S and may in fact be named as such.

There are also still rumors of the possible release of an iPad with a smaller 7″ display. This would be a lower end model which would include a smaller price tag. This unit would be sold to compete directly with the popular Kindle Fire. There are no major rumors that this is what Apple’s big announcement will be on March 7th. It wouldn’t be the first time however that everyone expected something (the iPad 3) from Apple and received something totally different at the Apple announcement.

We here at iPad 3 News would not be surprised with any announcement made by Apple on March 7th. An iPad 3 without a Retina Display would make total sense as rumors lead us to believe Apple had issues sourcing these items. However by releasing a device with other upgrades they could cash in on the many waiting for a new iPad. The iPad Mini or other named 7″ iPad also makes total sense. This is obviously a growing segment of the market, and Apple is currently unable to compete with this form factor or price range. Of course our fingers are crossed for what almost everyone wants. That is an iPad 3 that includes the new A6 processor, a better battery and camera, and of course the Retina Display. We would rather see Apple’s big announcement to be the iPad Mini over a lackluster upgrade to the iPad 2.

Maintaining Your iPhone Battery to Extend Its Life

It never fails... you're expecting an important call when you realize that your iPhone battery is nearly dead! How do you keep your battery running longer? The secrets are here...

One thing Apple has become infamous for is the implementation of a built-in battery in the iPhone and iPod. This means that when the battery finally passes away you are not just in the market for a new power source, but instead an entirely new piece of hardware requiring a hefty fee. The best way to avoid this is to take special care to extend the life of your internal battery.

Avoiding Heat

The battery itself is a lithium-ion battery designed to be repeatedly recharged. One of the biggest enemies of this type of battery is excessive exposure to hot temperatures. This does not mean you should leave it at home when going for a day in the sun, but try not to leave it in sweltering locations. When it is at home try and keep it in a cool place, not in direct sunlight from a window or near warm appliances in a bathroom or kitchen.

Use Proper Chargers

Only use official Apple chargers. Apple has successfully marketed itself to a point where it has a monopoly on anything to do with Apple central products. Avoid car chargers and after market devices for your phone. Since the phone itself should come with a charger you should be fine, and any iPod charger will do as well.

Don't Overuse the Battery

Overuse can also drain the battery consistently, wearing it out prematurely. The more devices you have running, the faster your battery will drain. Try shutting down the 3G network, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi when you are not using it. Also try locking it and putting it into sleep mode to lower the consistent battery tap.

Maintenance

It is important to follow other maintenance guidelines to help lengthen the life of your original battery. Keep your iPhone clean and do not let it accumulate too much residue. Obviously it is critical to avoid any major damage to the device as this can further attack the battery (dropping it on pavement or in the toilet is a no-no). Keep unused applications out of the phone and make sure the operating system is updated consistently.

Battery Replacement Option

Though it is expensive and quite a hassle, there is an option for when it inevitably dies. You can purchase a battery replacement from Apple. Fair warning, if you wait too long to replace it, you may get to the point where the battery is too weak to power your phone at all.

Apple has stated that only twenty percent of the batteries permanent life is used after “400 charge cycles,” which would equal out to being over five years without a needed battery replacement. I wonder if it's even possible to reach that amount of time without buying a new product, but try these tips and see how close you get. If you have any additional tips, or if you've gone 5 years without a replacement, please share in the comments.

Difference Between iPad and iPhone

Two latest additions to the Apple product line are the iPad and the iPhon4 What a lot of people noticed during the unveiling of the iPhone 4 is that it is actually powered by the very same A4 processor. Although they have similarities, they have differences that make them appropriate for certain uses. The biggest difference between them is their size (pun intended). The iPad is almost 7 times bigger than the iPhone but is slightly thinner. The bigger device allows Apple to put better specs into the iPad.
For one, the iPad has a 9.7 inch display while the iPhone has a 3.5 inch display but with only a slightly higher resolution. Despite that, the bigger screen of the iPad makes it much better when watching video or browsing the Internet. You can still do the same with the iPhone but you need to make do with the smaller screen and very frequent zooms when online. The iPad is also equipped with a bigger battery, to provide the same amount of video viewing or browsing time. The iPad has bigger power requirements and installing a battery with identical specs to that of the iPhone would mean lesser available power.
Although the iPad has some advantages over the iPhone, there are also roles that only the iPhone can play. The iPad is not able to make calls or send text messages like the iPhone; after all who would want to hold the iPad to their face to make or receive a call. The iPad was also not equipped with a video camera, so you cannot record videos or even take pictures with it. The iPhone 4 actually has 2 cameras, one on the rear for pictures and video and one in front for video calling.
The iPad only has a few of the sensors you would find on the latest iPhone. The most important sensors right now is the gyroscope which allows for better motion sensing than the accelerometer. It should open up new possibilities for game controls and other stuff. Sadly ,the current iPad cannot run those apps since it lacks the gyroscope of the iPhone
Summary:

The iPad is much bigger than the iPhone
The iPad has a bigger battery than the iPhone
You can make calls on the iPhone but not on the iPad
The iPhone has a camera but not the iPad
The iPhone has more sensors than the iPad

The most difficult place to buy iPhone 4S is Hong Kong

Hong Kong might be the country that is most difficult to buy iPhone 4S in. Because many bots and applications to resellers that flooding Apple’s online system in seconds, the company now requires consumers to register and passport number. The whole procedure for the sale of iPhone 4S requires users to register daily page of Apple, then draw raffle and retrieved names receive vouchers to purchase equipment. Initial registration form was pretty simple, but once it turned out that normal users gain access to it, had to be changes made. Before online registration does it require the Apple store in Hong Kong also be closed because of the huge crowds wanting to buy a phone.

Six Tips To Maintain Your iPhone & Keep Scratches Off Its Back

Your iPhone is an investment, and you surely will not want to destroy it by not maintaining it, or allowing it to get covered with scratches. Protect your iPhone with these tips, and you will be able to enjoy it for much longer!

1. Keep your iPhone away from things that could scratch it. If any case you are going to placed it in your pocket or purse, dont placed it in the same pocket you keep your keys or your coins, as either one is likely to scratch it.

2. Get a cover. There is a plethora of types of covers available for you to use to protect your iPhone. Some of them include flip cases, slip pouches, gel skins, rigid covers, weather resistant cases, and leather covers. You can get sports covers for when you do not have a pocket or a free hand. Sports covers are armbands with an attached pocket or sleeve for your iPhone. If you’re fashion conscious, you could even get Gucci and other designer iPhone covers. You can get cases that look like coin pouches. Iphone cases come in every color imaginable. Some cases fit so tightly round your phone, leaving the screen available for you, that they look like the phone itself. So whatever your preference in a case, you can find one that you like, and it could keep your iPhone looking super new.

3. To keep dirt and smudges away from the screen, get a couple of screen protectors. These bits of film stick to your screen, commonly by static, without clouding your view. You use your iPhone screen like normal, right through the screen protector.

4. Some other selection for protecting your iPhone from dirt and scratches is an Air Jacket kit. The air jacket is a fine layer of protection only one millimeter thick. It is near invisible, even so it still protects your phone. The air jacket gives you zero protection for if you accidentally drop your phone, but it would keep away the grease, smudges, and scratches which spoil your iPhone’s finish. The kit comes with the air jacket, a fine crystal film, and an anti glare film for the LCD.

5. There are also things you could do to preserve your iPhone’s battery, and extend its life. First and foremost, keep your iPhone away from heat. Don’t leave it in a hot car, or anywhere else in the sun. Heat is the worst thing for your iPhone’s battery, and may destroy it speedier than just about anything else. Also, you may go through one charge cycle per month to perserve the battery. To do this, charge it up to a hundred percent and then let the charge drain entirely down to 0%. keypad lock your mobile phone when youre not using it, and keep power-draining activities, such as gaming, to a average level. Performing these things can keep your battery operating at an optimal level.

6. Part of preserving and protecting your iPhone is cleaning it. To clean it, begin with turning off your iPhone for safety purpose, then use the cleaning cloth that come with it. If that is not available, you could use any soft, lint-free cloth. Get it slightly damp, but not too wet. Do not use any cleaning solvents, alcohol, household cleaners, window cleaners or abrasives. Be sure you don’t get any moisture in any of the openings.

A clean, well maintained iPhone will look good, and make you look good. It will work better with more efficiency. And it will be there to bring you ease, convenience, and fun entertainment for a very time to come. Have fun!!
